1. Overview

Hoiana Shores Golf Club anchors the Hoiana Integrated Resort just south of Hoi An. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Greg Muirhead, the genuine links course opened in 2020, preserving natural dunes and Casuarina stands without heavy earthwork.

The front nine winds through sand ridges and forests, featuring crowned greens and waist-level bunkers that test pace control, while the back nine negotiates ocean-facing infinity greens and broad waste bunkers that align with seasonal south winds. Holes 11 and 18 frame the cobalt sea with powdery white sand, building a truly signature experience.

The resort pairs the golf course with a 600m driving range, short-game areas, a 24/7 Golf Academy, four branded hotels, a casino, and Michelin-reference dining, enabling all-in-one golf travel. Hoiana runs its own caddie academy and environmental monitoring program to promote a sustainable resort model.

4.1 Layout

The course stretches 7,004 yards from the Black tees with a par 71 fabric that follows the Sand Dunes coastline. The front nine moves between dunes and Casuarina forests, introducing crowned greens and waist bunkers that test firm wedge touch.

The back nine faces the South China Sea, where the par-3 11th, par-4s 16 and 17, and closing par-5 18 deliver infinity greens and gusty winds. Paspalum fairways encourage run-outs, but without a proper ball flight the breeze can push shots offline.

• Par 5 No. 5: diagonal tee over the left dunes and a two-tier green demand a precise carry
• Par 4 No. 12: wraps around the inland lagoon with a double dogleg that defines the second shot angle
• Par 3 No. 17: crescent green between ocean and pond, constantly facing the breeze

Nearby the clubhouse are an 18-bay covered range, target greens, and a wedge-only area, while multilingual FLC Biscom caddies support long-stay groups.
