1. Overview

Van Tri Golf Club opened in 2007 as one of northern Vietnam’s earliest member-only clubs. The layout on the rolling Kim No terrain blends expansive parkland fairways with strategic bunkering and water features, delivering a championship-length experience just 30 minutes from Hanoi’s city center.

Peter Rousseau of Pacific Coast Design matched paspalum fairways with crisp bunkers, flowing mounds, and confidently framed water hazards over the 7,200-plus yard routing. Holes such as the island green par-3 16th and the meadow-cut par-4 17th showcase the risk-reward decisions built into the design.

The club limits membership to about 400 players to maintain premium turf and service levels. The clubhouse overlooks the course with fine-dining, private locker wings, and a lounge, while dedicated practice greens, a driving range, and a professional caddie team support a refined, full-day round.

  • Exclusive membership club with roughly 400 members · tightly managed access
  • Peter Rousseau routing stretching 7,200+ yards with tactical par-3s and penal bunkering
  • Prime Hanoi access, high-end clubhouse amenities, and dedicated practice facilities

4. Course guide

Van Tri Golf Club features an undulating parkland layout carved next to the Red River floodplain. The expansive fairways narrow quickly after tee shots, forcing players to choose landing zones carefully while the greens reward precise approach shots.

  • OUT course: generous landing zones narrow toward the green complexes, presenting risk/reward club selection through the stretch.
  • IN course: holes 14–16 cross water and shifting winds, demanding adaptation in club choices depending on pin placement.
  • Clubhouse: VIP-ready spaces with private dining, locker rooms, and lounge areas for hospitality rounds.
