1. Overview

The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip is a pure links routing carved out of 50-meter coastal dunes with views over the South China Sea. Greg Norman Golf Course Design used the natural dune elevation to create a dramatic 18-hole championship that won the 2015 World Golf Award for Best New Course and ranks among Asia’s top 100 venues.

Shifting sea breezes, ridge-contoured fairways, and wave-like dunes put strategy at a premium. The front nine climbs toward the coastline with signature par-3 4th teeing from a 30-meter rise to a green framed by the sea, while holes 13–15 thread the ridge and the par-5 18th drops back toward the clubhouse for a dramatic finish.

The course shares The Grand Ho Tram Resort's five-star amenities—resort, casino, Melia Ho Tram Hotel, and PGA academy—with night practice areas and a Titleist Performance Institute, making it a favored training base for touring pros.

4. Course guide

The Bluffs is composed of a front nine that overlooks the coastline and a back nine that winds through cliffs and valleys. Narrow fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and firm approaches define the round, with deep bunkers and tight rough guarding the greens.

Hole 1 climbs inland to set the tempo, holes 5 and 7 offer risk-and-reward par 5s that invite aggressive second shots, hole 12 requires a downhill tee shot over a ravine, and the par-3 15th is the signature elevated tee facing the South China Sea.
