1. Overview

Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club is a 36-hole resort carved into the mountains and lake terrain surrounding Van Son Lake southwest of Hanoi. The Korean DK ENC consortium developed the site with An Moon Hwan of Bori Golf Design guiding the master plan, while IMG Golf Course Services oversees operations to keep the course at international tournament quality.

The Sky course winds through a 500-acre nature reserve with parkland styling, generous landing zones, and native vegetation bisecting the fairways, creating a classic championship test. The Lake course uses massive lakes, dramatic elevation changes, and pot bunkers to deliver a hardcore challenge, and it has been hailed as “Vietnam’s most demanding course” since its 2012 debut while remaining weekend members-only.

The clubhouse contains premium locker rooms, a sauna, a 300m driving range, a short game zone, and the IMG Golf Academy so that team rounds and corporate events can be hosted seamlessly. It is about 45 minutes from Hanoi city center and just over an hour from Noi Bai International Airport, making it a preferred choice for Hanoi-based golfers.

4. Course guide

Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club operates two complementary 18-hole loops—Sky and Lake—so it can shift between championship setups and resort-friendly rounds depending on the day.

• Sky Course: The ridgeline routing keeps fairways relatively forgiving, but deep bunkers and wind-exposed tee shots force disciplined ball flight control.
• Lake Course: Dramatic elevation changes across lakes and ravines create a hardcore loop that is frequently members-only on weekends, so advance booking is essential.
• Practice: The 300m driving range and IMG Golf Academy connect to the clubhouse for convenient warm-ups before or after a round.
